TOUCHING THE LIVES OF REAL PEOPLE
The Jubilee Run for Cancer benefits the American Cancer Society's Relay for Life, a life-changing event that gives everyone in communities across the globe a chance to celebrate the lives of people who have battled cancer, remember loved ones lost, and fight back against the disease.
Since 2000, the American Cancer Society's Joe Lee Griffin Hope Lodge in Birmingham has offered a solution to cancer patients who must undergo treatment far from home. The Hope Lodge provides housing free of charge on a first-come, first-served basis to cancer patients and their families during their course of treatment. The Hope Lodge not only reduces the financial burden, but also provides a much-needed supportive environment.
Below are a few "Thank You" letters from individuals who were positively affected by Relay's fundraising efforts, which allowed them to stay at Hope Lodge while receiving treatment. Their last names have been removed to protect their privacy.
Folks like the families featured above are the reason we do what we do! Won't you help us in the fight to end this disease?
